Rubio's Coastal Grill is quickly becoming one of my favorite chain restaurants in the South Bay. It's like a Baja Fresh with seafood. Their new seasonal item features langostino lobsters. They look kind of like small lobsters but the meat comes out more like the tail of a crawfish. Very sweet and juicy. Langostino's are one of my favorite seafood treats. I don't find it on menus often. Here are two of the dishes at Rubio's which feature langostino.

($9.99) The Langostino burrito is full of the usual Rubio's goodness: rice, beans, chipotle sauce, guacamole. It also has chunks of succulent langostino meat cooked in a basil butter. Very filling and satisfying. Be sure to drizzle on the red diablo sauce for a spicy kick. My favorite is the green sauce though.
($9.99) Langostino two taco platter showcased the langostino meat even better. It's a leaner, lower carb option for enjoying this crustacean.

- Surf & Turf Two Taco Plate - A Langostino Lobster taco topped with slices of fresh avocado, cabbage, cilantro and onion, and paired with a Grilled Gourmet Taco™ with Steak.
- Langostino Lobster Enchilada - Two enchiladas with buttery Langostino Lobster, a melted three cheese blend and topped with verde sauce, avocado slices, salsa fresca and a creamy chipotle sauce.
- Chicken Tortilla Soup, which includes grilled chicken, citrus rice and chicken broth and is topped with shredded cheese, salsa fresca, fresh avocado slices and tortilla strips.
Langostino is only available for a limited time this season. For 10 years, the restaurant has been offering this menu when it's in season so be sure to check it out.
