Foodbuzz Blogger Festival 2010 Pt 2

Down at the Ferry Building, I met some new friends for dinner. Renuka of Foodelicious whom I spent most of the day with, and Coco of Opergirlcooks (Isn't she cute as a button?) We had great conversation throughout drinks and dinner the whole night.

Where my alcoholics at?!?! Shots, shots, shots, shots...

The Ferry Building can be so glamorous. It deserves a more luxurious name.

H'ordeuvre of zucchini puff with cream and smoked tuna?

Roasted Golden Beet Tart. The arugula was tossed with salt and oil. Basil puree was excellent. Crimson beets, feta, and currants, well they just tasted like beets.

Seared Scallops with Bonny Doon Vineyard Verjus Beurre Blanc. On top of braised fennel and garnished with fried fennel fonds. My description won't do this dish any justice. It's just the best seared scallop in THE WHOLE WIDE WORLD!

Renuka ordered everything vegetarian and it was interesting to see their vegetarian version of the seared scallops. Though she said the tofu was bland, I give it presentation points for trying to look like scallops.

Renuka's vegetarian dish. It looks like a mushroom burger. Portobella buns, mushroom patty, and on top of oyster mushrooms. Looks yummy.

Rosemary and garlic infused rack of lamb. Now that's a rack I like to see. Butternut squash puree and wild mushrooms. This was very good but I'm not a huge fan of lamb so it doesn't blow me out of the water. The sides particularly overshadowed the lamb for me.

Dessert was Tartes de Almendras with Oranges. Let me translate that fancy French for you: almond sponge cake with oranges, figs, and Sherry cream that tasted too strong.

OVERALL IMPRESSIONS
The Foodbuzz Blogger Festival is an annual festival put on by foodbuzz.com for its bloggers. It is a three day event with food and drink at all of them (I think, I wasn't at brunch). I could only make it to Saturday's event this year but mark my words, next year, I will eat, drink, and be merry 3 days in a row. The first thing you want to know is, how much did it cost? Well, just know that I did not pay an arm and leg, all limbs are in tact. Foodbuzz treats its bloggers well, that's all I will say. Not pictured are the 4 different wines that went with every dinner, the wines served during the cocktail hour, and the wines served during lunch. If I so wished, I could have gotten hammered, but I so did not wish to walk around SF drunk.

THANK YOU FOODBUZZ, YOU ARE AWESOME!
