FOR NATIONAL CHEESE DAY
Sofitel San Francisco Bay and Bay 223 invite Bay Area cheese-lovers to experience National Cheese Day with pallet-pleasing pairings and fondue festivities San Francisco, CA, May 20, 2016 – Indulge in your favorite unofficial food group for National Cheese Day at Bay 223 Restaurant at Sofitel San Francisco Bay Hotel on Saturday, June 4th. From 4 PM to 6 PM, Executive Chef David Clawson will host a complementary cheese tasting in the hotel lobby that will feature a variety of local and imported cheeses. Special wine and cheese pairings will be available for purchase in the bar and lounge. Additionally, Bay 223 Restaurant invites dinner guests to feast on cheese fondue as the Chef’s special for that evening.
Built on the Southern peninsula in Silicon Valley, Bay 223 at Sofitel San Francisco Bay offers a stunning panoramic view of the Redwood Shores Lagoon. Not only is it the choice hang out spot for tech giants, but it has undoubtedly become one of the hottest dining spots in Silicon Valley with over 700 people in attendance at the recent Easter Brunch in April and Mother’s Day in May. Bay 223 will offer three different options of cheesy pleasure to indulge in for the evening’s special wine and cheese experiences.
The Taste of Europe offering will include two imported cheeses and Delirium Belgian Ale for $23. The imported cheeses are Raclette and Epoisses de Bourgogne, a soft cow’s milk cheese produced in a village named Époisses, France. This particular dairy creation takes six weeks to fully mature, emitting a soft red-orange color. It delivers a powerful mixture of sweet, salty, and creamy flavors. Raclette is a semi-hard cheese with a creamy texture and distinctive pleasant aroma. The flavor can be described as nutty and milky. Lastly, the Taste of California package contains California Toma PT. Reyes cheese, Marinated Laura Chanel Goat cheese, and a glass of Arrowhead Cabernet Sauvignon for $25. California Toma PT. Reyes is made in California and has a buttery flavor with a grassy tang at the end. Hand-crafted in Sonoma County, Marinated Laura Chanel Goat cheese is marinated with parsley, thyme, and rosemary. These unique flavors are sure to expose individuals to a new appreciation for both domestic and imported cheeses. In addition, for those that choose to have dinner with us, Chef Clawson will be offering a special of Raclette Cheese Fondue for the evening for $16. Bay 223 is proud to deliver all of these delectable pairings in a convenient and affordable way exclusively available on National Cheese Day.
